Dr. Paula Gaynor and Mark Clifford, co-founders of Ireland’s newest health supplement brand SOMEGA, are pouring more than 30 years of combined knowledge and expertise into their pure and natural products.
The husband and wife team come from food science and nutrition backgrounds having studied at University College Cork. After graduating, the pair worked in a variety of roles in the food and health supplement industries in Europe and the USA. They returned home to West Cork with a dream to bring their vast knowledge to a new brand of health supplement – a brand that was founded in science by real people who understand the importance of good nutrition and the benefits it can bring to everyday life.
Pure and Natural Supplements
Paula says “we use cutting edge scientific technologies to deliver supplements that are easily absorbed, pure and natural. We extensively research every ingredient in our products and do not use any unnecessary ingredients, such as sugar, bulking agents or artificial ingredients. Liposomal Vitamin C
SOMEGA’s Liposomal Vitamin C is a pleasant-tasting liquid supplement with a natural citrus flavour. It can be enjoyed straight from the spoon or added to cold drinks and smoothies.
Vitamin C is a nutrient with multiple health benefits. It supports the immune system, is a natural energy booster, helps to promote collagen formation for healthy skin and enhances iron absorption. For anyone suffering from hay fever, Vitamin C can be helpful as it acts as a natural antihistamine and is anti-inflammatory.
SOMEGA’s Vitamin C is produced using liposomal technology to enhance Vitamin C absorption. Regular Vitamin C supplements have limited bioavailability meaning the amount of Vitamin C that can be absorbed and used to support your health is limited. Using liposomal technology, the Vitamin C is placed inside liposomes which are tiny, ball-shaped delivery vehicles with a water-soluble centre surrounded by a phospholipid bilayer. The liposomes protect Vitamin C from degradation in the harsh environment of the digestive system and when they reach the small intestine, the liposomes are absorbed into the circulation. SOMEGA’s Easy Omega-3 + Vitamin D3 is a creamy, smoothie-like Omega-3 supplement with added Vitamin D3. It has a delicious, natural peach-mango flavour and can be taken straight from the spoon or add to smoothies and yogurt or drizzled on porridge and granola.
Omega-3’s health benefits include support for heart health, brain health and vision. For children’s developing brains, it is particularly important and it’s also helpful in maintaining brain function as you age. Vitamin D helps support the immune system and contributes to bone health and calcium absorption.
