Description
Nicorette 2mg Low Strength Medicated Chewing Gum is a medicated chewing gum used in the the assistance of smoking cessation in adults. The gum can be used to either complement a cigarette consumption reduction by using in conjunction with reduced smoking or to replace the use of cigarettes as the user gradual weans dose, either exclusively or in combination with other smoking cessation medications or products.
How to Use
- To be chewed by mouth only.
- Not recommended for use in children.
Dosage
The usage of the gum will depend on the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If more the 20 cigarettes are smoked per day, the Nicorette 4mg High Strength Medicated Chewing Gum is recommended, while if less than 20 cigarettes are smoked per day, the Nicorette 2mg Low Strength Medicated Chewing Gum is recommended.
The gum should be chewed when there is a strong urge to smoke, and the use of the gum should be refrained from for as long as possible.
When using the gum, the 'chew and rest' technique as outline on the box should be followed. This technique involves chewing a piece of gum when needed until a strong flavour occurs. At this point, the gum can be moved by the tongue to the area between the gums and the inner lining of the cheek, where the nicotine will be released and absorbed.
Each gum will provide approximately 30 minutes of action before it is exhausted.
No more than 15 gums should be chewed in any 24 hour period. If a reduction in cigarettes has not been obtained within 6 weeks of strict usage of the gums, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
